Dr. Timothy Van Johnson, MD, received a Bachelor of Science degree, Summa Cum Laude and valedictorian, from Birmingham-Southern College. He then a received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Emory University School of Medicine, graduating Cum Laude. He went on to complete his residency at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
During his medical career, he has published dozens of scientific articles, commentaries, editorials, and book chapters. Dr. Johnson is active in many professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Johnson practices general ophthalmology that includes comprehensive eye exams, glasses and contact lens fittings for both children and adults. His areas of specialty include cataract surgery, management of glaucoma, and management of diabetic retinopathy.
